I wonder will Bertie be nominated for Canonization shortly. Listening to the gushing praise from the faithful and indeed his opponents since d’announcement you’d be forgiven for thinking he’d bought the farm. If I hear “It’s Bertie’s Day” once more I’ll puke.
I see Our Little Willie got out of the traps early and has decided to turn his brown nose in the direction of Dermot Ahern - remembered down this way as a prime mover in pulling the Shannon/Heathrow slots to the New Pales northern airport - the heartland of which is in D.A.’s Louth co-incidentally. One TD who obviously keeps the interest of his constituency at least on a par with that of his Party, unlike Gruppenfuehrer Wilhelm.
Anyway, enjoy your long awaited retirement Bertie. You can spend, spend, spend like crazy from May 7th.

..not before he took the country down with him, and helped destroy our more important historical heritage, Tara Valley. Nice one Bertie, if only John Gormless would do the decent thing and follow suit.

Me too Mary….the perks are worth it.

For that money, Mary, count me in too..and I could see my days out on it. I wouldn’t need any backhanders, be having too much fun making Willie O’Dea shovel shit ’til his Little Corporal’s ‘tache wilted and we’d save a fortune on (lack of) Tribunals, I could get over the wig-flight of Barristers and other hangers-on. And when I was settled in my leather chair I’d be on to the gov’t stockbroker selling useless shares in the former national airline to Mick O’Leary in order to fund a slimmed down efficient health executive where fuck-up’s were not the order of the day a la Barrington’s.
