One to watch: The Late Late Show

Patrick and John Collison will be guests on the Late Late Show this evening on RTE 1.

The two Limerick teenagers hit the headlines this week after a company they started, auctomatic, was acquired by Live Media, of Canada for a reported €3.2m

Bodies of father and son found near Limerick/Kerry border

The bodies of a father and son, aged 54 and 27 respectively, have been found in a house in the Moybane area of County Kerry, close to the Limerick Border.

The mens bodies were discovered this morning, and Gardai have now sealed off the area for technical examination.

The state pathologists office has been notified.

Limerick Blogger owner becomes millionaire

If you had told me twelve months ago I would be writing the above headline, I would have laughed at you. Nonetheless, here I am writing it.

Patrick Collison, who took ownership of limerickblogger.org earlier this month, along with his brother John, have become wealthy men following the acquisition of their start up venture Auctomatic by Canadian company, Live Current Media, for a reported €3m.

Auctomatic was started in June of 2007, and the company offers eBay account management services online.

Prison inmate dies after being found unconscious

A thirty year old inmate of Limerick Prison has died after he was found unconscious in his cell.

The alarm was raised by his cellmate at 2100 hrs and he was russhed to Limerick Regional Hospital where he died.

The man was serving a 10 month prison term for road traffic offences.

Foul play is not suspected in the man’s death.

The name of the dead man is yet to be released.

Gun attack: St. Mary’s Park

Six houses were targetted by a gunman last night in St. Ita’s Street at approximately 2045 hrs.

The gunman emerged from a taxi and opened fire with what is believed to be a machine gun, on the six houses, which were all occupied at the time, some with children.

He then made his getaway in the taxi, which was later found by Gardai and is currently undergoing forensic examination.

Fighting Heroin addiction

This morning, a Limerick man was featured on NewsTalk’s breakfast Show talking about his ongoing battle with heroin.

Known to those of you who visit boards.ie as “ricey” he gave his account of how he got into drugs, and the effect it has had on his family.
