Body of missing UL student is found

A body found in the Oranmore area of Galway over the weekend has been identified as missing University of Limerick student Michael Hughes. He was originally from County Longford.

The 20 year old was last seen at 0145 hrs on 20th February in Ayre Square in Galway, having been seen earlier that day socialising at the bar at NUI Galway.

Gardai confirmed his identity yesterday.

    Rest in Peace Michael Hughes. A terrible tragedy. Another young life lost. Please God finding the body will give the family some peace. At least they will be able to have a funeral and have a place to visit him. Lets hope we dont hear of a case like this in a long time again.
