Taking a piss, or taking the piss.

So, you’re on your way home after a night out, and suddenly you realise your busting for a pee.

What do you do, well if you are like Kenneth Clancy of Lenihan Avenue, Prospect, you will be well prepared.

Clancy told Gardai who found him trespassing in a public house on Edward Street that he was simply on the premises as he needed to go to the toilet.

Carrying a crowbar, flashlight and wearing gloves, Clancy was well prepared for any bathroom emergency.

However, his claims didn’t hold any water for Gardai who arrested him at the scene on 27th December.

Before the courts this week, Clancy was told that he could have received a 12 month prison sentence, however in light of his guilty plea, he was sentenced to four months instead.

The cell will hopefully come with it’s own piss pot.

I’m sure he’s relieved that the benign Irish Justice System has seen fit to look kindly upon his Guilty Pee.

So how does it go…”plead Guilty, advises defence solicitor xxxx” 12 months, but seing as you were caught with your pants down, plead guilty = 4 months, less two months for good behaviour, watching Sky Movies & Sports and not complaining about the free food/bed & board = 2 months. …..”You’re taking the piss” says Clancy. “‘afraid not” says Judge Mercyupon DeCriminal all flushed with emotion “This is Ireland…..let no criminal fear the law”

Good idea carrying around that crowbar, many’s the time an unruly zipper has almost led to a flooding accident, sounds just the job. And the gloves and flashlamp, inspired! I wonder will we ever hear of Kenneth again now that he’s learned his lesson?

Anyone know what pub he was caught in?

No, Hugh, but there are only three left on Edward Street (where once there were at least 7). One of which I wouldn’t imagine anyone would want to take a piss in - open or shut - or indeed “borrow” anything from…. but I don’t speak for the bould Ken there.
