Limerick FC High Court appeal thrown out

The High Court injuction put on the FAI as a result of an appeal by Limerick Fc two weeks ago has been lifted as the case was thrown out in the High Court today with costs awarded against Limerick FC. Commenting on the Court’s decision, Eircom League of Ireland Director, Fran Gavin, said: “This is a clear endorsement of the club licensing process. We are trying to improve standards and licensing is a key element of that. We are committed to ensuring that Limerick has a vibrant soccer scene at all levels and that is something we will be working towards.” The FAI further commented - “this is a complete vindication of the manner in which the Licensing Department handled the process and the Association is delighted that Justice Clarke was extremely complimentary of the manner in which the FAI implements its licensing system. We also welcome his decision to award the Football Association of Ireland our costs in this matter.”
