Two men appeared before Limerick District Court yesterday, charged with the murder of Darren Coughlan, at the Old Cracloe Road in November of last year.

Richard Treacy, with an address at St. Munchin’s Street, St. Mary’s Park and Shane Kelly of Oliver Plunkett Street, St. Mary’s Park were arrested yesterday morning by Gardai on the direction of the DPP.

The court was told that neither gave a response when arrested.

Solicitors for both men, requested that they be remanded in custody at Limerick Prison for their own protection. Judge Tom O’Donnell agreed to this and remanded them in custody to appear again before the court next week.
