New Ryanair flights from Shannon
The stopover may be going but Michael O’Leary was back in Shannon this morning to announce new flights and routes to Europe. He stated, “Ryanair’s expansion makes Shannon one of the best served regions of its size anywhere in Europe and is a major boost to tourism and business in the mid-west, bringing 240 new jobs, 240,000 additional passengers and €55m more tourism spend.”From September, Ryanair will base a fourth Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Shannon.
Martin Moroney, Director of Shannon Airport said: “This is another exciting day for Shannon International Airport. The further development of Ryanair’s Shannon base is a great boost for the airport and the region and further establishes Shannon as Ireland’s low cost gateway. ”
The new routes are Shannon to Biarritz and Carcassonne in the South of France, Faro in Portugal, Krakow in Poland and Venice in Italy.It has also increased the frequency of flights on routes from Shannon to Barcelona, Malaga and Milan. The new routes will start on October 12 and bring the total number of destinations served by Ryanair in Shannon to 24. More good news for those who couldnt be arsed going to Dublin to get a flight!!
